Administration
Randy Ramsey is the founder and president of Jarrett Bay Boatworks, and chairman of Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales. He has been involved in almost every aspect of the boating and fishing industries from running a successful charter fishing operation to co-founding the Harker's Island Sportfishing School, and serving as a marine surveyor and consultant. Randy earned his USCG captain’s license at 18, and today is proud to be at the helm of the world's leading custom boat construction and service facility.
Randy lives in Carteret County, North Carolina, and is a very active member of numerous local and regional boards. Most notably, Randy has served on the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament's Board since 1983, serving as president for two terms. He also serves on the board of the North Carolina Manufacturer's Association, is vice president of The North Carolina State University Student Aid Association, and is a member of the North Carolina State University Board of Trustees, among numerous others.
Dew is primarily responsible for overseeing the company's strategic planning. In 1998, Dew and Randy Ramsey relocated Jarrett Bay operations from Marshallberg, NC to our current Beaufort ICW 175-acre parcel that is now home to numerous boating related businesses.
Prior to joining the Jarrett Bay team, Dew graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and soon after began charter fishing up & down the east coast and in the Bahamas. In the 1990’s, Dew owned a charter fishing operation, as well as built three custom Jarrett Bays. Dew has built two Jarrett Bays' and owned a thrid one. He has fished in numerous tournaments and won the Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament with JB Hull # 18 in 1998. Dew is also on the Board of Directors of Big Rock and was president of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament from 1993-1995.
Dew resides in Beaufort, NC with his wife, Valorie, who runs the Jarrett Bay Boathouse in quaint downtown Beaufort.
Dan was born and raised in Carteret County, NC. He joined the US Coast Guard to learn a trade and spent 11 years maintaining machinery, and 12 years surveying commercial vessels for structural conditions & safety. Two years were then invested with Atlantic Dry Dock in Jacksonville, Florida as a safety coordinator, leading to a similar opportunity with Jarrett Bay Boatworks in November 1999. His initial duties included yard repair assistant manager, but soon after he was promoted to Human Resources & Safety Manager in 2001.
Dan resides in Newport, NC with his wife, Evelyn. They have three children, Nick, who works for Jarrett Bay in the shipping and receiving department, Chris and Sabrina.
Renee is the Accounting Manager at Jarrett Bay Boatworks. She handles all accounts payables and receivables for Jarrett Bay Boatworks, The Jarrett Bay Group as well as the Marine Industrial Park. Renee has been with the Jarrett Bay family since 1997 while they were still located in Marshallberg.
Renee grew up on Harkers Island, where she observed her grandfather as he built wooden boats. She still enjoys fishing and boating for pleasure and loves cooking for her family.
Renee and her husband, Mckinley reside on Harkers Island. Mckinley is in charge of security for the Jarrett Bay Marine Industrial Park. Renee takes great pride in her son, Josh, who is an UNC graduate and is quickly becoming a very accomplished young man.
Custom Construction
Gary has been with us since 1998, when he merged his custom boat company with Jarrett Bay Boatworks. Gary oversees all day to day operations in the New Construction department and creates the designs for new builds.
Gary grew up around a boatshed apprenticing under his grandfather, Ray Davis. After he had honed his skills, Gary started his own business and has proudly crafted over 55 unique custom boats.
Gary lives “Down East” and enjoys fishing on his skiff and any other outdoor activities. He stays fit & healthy by running in numerous marathons and triathlons during the year.
Gary and his wife, Karen, have two talented sons, Ramsey and Zack.
Tate oversees all new construction operations, as well as manages our teams of skilled craftsmen. Tate joined the Jarrett Bay family in 1999 while they were in the process of building Hull 30. Now working on Hull 55, Tate has proven himself to be one of our shining stars at Jarrett Bay with his knowledge-filled boat building background.
Growing up on Harkers Island, Tate spent his youth working with Gary Davis, Jarrett Bay’s New Construction Superintendent, until they joined forces at Jarrett Bay. Tate is an avid boater, fisherman and also enjoys hunting.
Tate now lives in Gloucester with his wife Kendra, our Yard Service Office Administrator. They are the proud parents of three wonderful children.
Semi-Production Construction
Donovan oversees our 34’ Jarrett Bay Semi-Production program. He has been with the Jarrett Bay team since 2005, but has worked around the Marine Industrial Park long before that.
Growing up on Harkers Island, Donovan is keen to the beautiful Crystal Coast and boats. He enjoys duck hunting and fishing on his own boat. He has placed in both the Wahoo Challenge and The Ducks Unlimited Tournament.
Donovan and his wife, Kristine, live on Harkers Island with their 4-year old daughter, Samantha.
Service & Repair Yard
Jeff Fulcher is a native of Sea Level, NC and is Jarrett Bay Boatworks Yard Manager. He oversees all repair, refit & service operations. He is the supervisor for a crew of more than 25 craftsmen and service managers. Jeff began at Jarrett Bay by lending a hand prepping the new Beaufort facility for the relocation in 1998.
After dedicating 28 years in the Coast Guard as a Naval Engineer, Jeff retired and is now a member of the VFW, Chief Warrant Officer Association and The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. Jeff enjoys spending his free time riding motorcycles and golfing.
Jeff and his wife, Robin, live in Beaufort. They have three children and two grandchildren.
Keith is a certified representative for all Grand Banks and Cabo Yachts warranty service work. Born and raised in a small fishing village, Keith watched and took note as his relatives built boats. At the age of 12, Keith began working on a local commercial fishing boat as a part time job. After graduating from high school, he attended Chapman’s School of Seamanship and Maritime Training, located in Florida, then worked in the Gulf of Mexico on Oil Supply Boats servicing the offshore rigs. He has owned several boats through the years, and operated a 40’ trawler from 1982 until 2004.
Keith started at Jarrett Bay in 2003, and in 2007 was promoted to Service Manager after working as a technician & department foreman.
Keith resides in Beaufort with his wife, Michelle. Their daughter, Brittany and her husband, Jimmy, recently welcomed the newest edition to their family, Jacey.
Roger is responsible for all Hatteras, Horizon and Marquis Yachts warranty work at Jarrett Bay. He also oversees the electrical and yard group, as well as the “Bring Your Hatteras Home” service initiative. Roger joined the Jarrett Bay team in 2008 and was an immediate asset to the company with his in-depth knowledge of almost anything Hatteras - vintage or new. Roger also created & teaches the Vintage Hatteras Owners School here at Jarrett Bay.
Roger dedicates his spare time as a volunteer fireman &EMT, and as a member of the NC State Firemen’s Association. Roger has also has been coaching little league baseball for 18 years.
Roger and his wife of 38 years, Faye, reside in New Bern, NC. Their son, Patrick, and his wife, Sharron, have two daughters.
Todd is responsible for estimates, planning and quality assurance in the service yard. He also oversees the service yard's Paint and Detail crews, as well as project management. Before joining the Jarrett Bay crew in 2008, Todd served as Paint & Glass Department Head and Project Manager at Bennett Brothers Yachts. Prior to his arrival in North Carolina, Todd was Yard Manager of AAA Boatyard Inc. in Chicago, a full service and winter storage facility with a 200-vessel capacity.
Todd spent over a decade as a US Sailing Category 2 competitor, racing yachts from 33′ to 70′ in the position of Bowman. He has competed in the annual Chicago to Mackinac Race (333 Miles) nine times and has also competed in four Port Huron to Mackinac races. In addition to distance races, he also competed in numerous course race Regattas including the National Offshore One Design, Chicago Verve Cup and Harbor Springs Invitational. Todd has also logged thousands of miles in deliveries on a variety of yachts.
Todd is a graduate of The Citadel, Class of 1992, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Kendra’s primary responsibility is generating service work orders & billing for all boats we welcome here at Jarrett Bay. Kendra also assists Jeff Fulcher and Keith Tosto, as well as handling customer service. She is the friendly voice on the phone when you call to schedule the haul and launch of your boat or have a question on your statement.
Growing up on the Crystal Coast, Kendra is right at home in this industry. She enjoys boating and fishing on the weekends with her family.
She now resides in Gloucester, NC with her husband Tate, one of our new construction foremen here at Jarrett Bay. Together they have three children, Brooke, Ashton and Chandler.
Marine Parts, Surplus & Salvage
Rich is responsible for all purchases made within the company for new construction, boatyard repairs and facility maintenance, plus he oversees and maintains the stockroom inventory and shipping & receiving departments.
Rich spent most of his formative years in the Coast Guard where he served as Chief Engineer on many different Coast Guard vessels before retiring after 23 years. His love of the sea and boats brought him back to his home town of Beaufort and Jarrett Bay Boatworks. He became part of the Jarrett Bay team in October 1998.
Rich and his wife of 31 years, Sherilene have two sons, Joshua and Matthew.
Sonny runs the Surplus and Salvage store located here at the Jarrett Bay Marine Industrial Park, and is responsible for purchasing outriggers, fighting chairs and propellers for all new construction boats. Sonny also tends to all propeller repairs.
Sonny joined the Jarrett Bay team in 1998, but long before that he had been building boats, first with Gillikin Craft Boatworks and then for himself. He is a USCG Licensed Captain and charter fished in addition to building boats until joining Jarrett Bay. He enjoys hunting, fishing and restoring vintage vehicles.
Sonny and his wife of 47 years, Ann, reside in Atlantic Beach with their friendly dog Chase. They have two children, Buck and Kim. Sonny and Ann have two granddaughters and two grandsons.
Merchandise, Marina & Fuel
Valorie Forbes is manager of the Jarrett Bay Boathouse Beaufort waterfront and online retail operations. Val is responsible for all Boathouse purchases and managing her friendly and professional staff. During the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, Valorie and her Boathouse team also lend a helping hand as a reporting station for the boats fishing in this world-class event.
In her free time, Val loves to travel with her husband as well as fishing near and far. She has participated in many lady angler tournaments over the years; And in 2001, Val and her team took second place in the Big Rock Lady Angler tournament.
Valorie was a registered nurse for nearly 30 years prior to retiring to a life of retail bliss, and now resides in Beaufort with her husband and Jarrett Bay Boatworks Vice President, Dew Forbes.
