Roger,
I will add my voice to the chorus here.
Speaking for myself [Jarrett Bay's Hatteras Technical Service School] was terrific. I cant say it any better than the prior posts but I would recommend this to ANY hatteras owner, large or small, older or newer boats.
Bruce [Morrison] and Roger [Wetherington] were astounding in their encyclopedic knowledge of all our boats. Continue reading “Encyclopedic Hatteras Knowledge” »

Thanks for the pictures and all the help in Making Blue Chip look like the boat she is. We had a beautiful ride home, only one on the ICW and river. An the old girl did not miss a beat.
My Social Director/Admiral had me loaded down when I got back. All along I kept telling her, “can’t do it until the boat gets back”. Everything from vehicle inspections, vehicle registrations that had to be done in person, several days of old man periodic medical testing (all came out well), etc, etc. Just my attempt at an excuse for a delayed response and THANKS.
Count me as a totally satisfied customer. In the 8 years we have owned Blue Chip, she has only been hauled and attended to by Jarrett Bay and her perfectionist owner. We shall return when she requires more attention.

On Friday, January 30, 2009, a Viking 72′ convertible was moved into the repair to start on our latest full paint job. Among the boats sharing the building is a 50′ custom catamaran. Structural repairs on this boat are underway as a result of damages the vessel sustained in a storm offshore in December. We anticipate this yacht will be back at sea in March. A 1972 Hatteras convertible is also in the process of being modernized with the windshields in the process of being replaced with fiberglass panels; the forward portlights being fiberglassed, faired and painted; and the installation of new engine vents that will give the boat a more contemporary look as well as providing better air flow to the engines. A brand new Hatteras 60′ has arrived for modifications to the hard top as well as custom carpentry work in the enclosed flybridge before the boat is moved to its new home on the Great Lakes this spring.
Thanks to all for your continued support.

We are continuing on a variety of interesting projects here at Jarrett Bay Boatworks. With the weather a little cooler, we are taking advantage of our 20,000 square foot indoor repair facility completing the re-power of a Cabo 47 and a windshield replacement on a Cabo 40. In the paint prep building we are preparing a 48′ Hatteras motor yacht for a full Alexseal paint job from top to bottom. Other projects currently in the yard include a Nordhaven 63′ in for an electronics upgrade and repairs to the hydraulic steering. Late last week, we launched a 63′ Queenship in for shaft seal replacements. Speaking of launches, our lift crew has been hard at work, with 20 hauls and launches in a 3 day period last week. Good job!

Dear Randy,
It is a rare occasion that I take the time to sit down and write a letter to say thank you for a job well done. As you know, over the past two years since I bought my Hatteras Bandit we have had extensive custom work done in your yard. We have also used your location as a bi-annual stopping point between Rhode Island and Florida to have general haul-out maintenance done.
In my daily work as owner of a mechanical service and manufacturing company that is a member of the American Shipbuilding Association, I well understand your challenges. The focus on the details that is required to truly satisfy demanding customer requirement can be a daunting task. During my recent visit with twelve items on our work order, all but two came in under the estimate. This shows to me a fair sense of business ethics and a great customer appreciation. Even more impressive, all of the work was done without my presence or under the direct run of a professional captain.
I would especially like to commend your yard manager Mr. Jeff Fulcher and his staff for all of their accommodating courtesy and diligent work. Thank you for being there to make my fun time even better.
Best Regards,
Barry A. Bordner, Bandit

Another fall and winter season is upon us as a successful spring and summer season winds down. The 106′ West Ship was hauled for annual maintenance prior to heading South for winter. The 68′ Hatteras, and the 68′ Jarrett Bay arrived from Bermuda after having fantastic fishing there to complete an availability & get ready for the winter season. The new 60′ Hatteras is here having the hull painted and new granite counter tops, outriggers&fighting chair installed.
The 1965 43′ Rybovich arrived by truck from a boat yard on Long Island, New York where it sat for the past two years. This classic will undergo a major facelift as we complete a full fairing and painting of the vessel, renewal of all brightwork, new teak covering boards and cockpit decking, new cockpit cabinets, and completely revamp mechanical and electrical systems throughout. The winter season set another record for the yard with the number of returning perennial favorites and new customers serviced, all coming to take advantage of our superior service and facilities.
The 57′ Scarborough Due Course from New Jersey came in for varnish, paint and other repairs. Virginia’s 56′ Core Sounder Southern Exposure is in the yard for some TLC. The 53′ Ocean Ali L out of Charleston is in once again for some custom Carolina treatment to the salon windows, and a new DeAngelo Marine exhaust system. Another South Carolina boat, the Fetchin, returned once again for some custom work on their New England style lobster boat.
The 84′ M/Y Sirena, haling from Massachusetts, is in for a complete bottom repair job, painting, and a new exhaust system. The 60′ Hatteras M/Y Family Matters, came in for some highly customized work. We hinged their radar arch to allow it to be lowered and raised by power. We also installed a new bow thruster. As a result, she can now conveniently achieve a suitable vertical clearance to make the voyage to the Great Lakes hassle-free. Continue reading “Recent Projects – Spring 2005″ »

I would like to thank you for operating like a first class boat yard. As you know this year was my third trip to Jarrett Bay to make improvements to the Green Eyed Girl – Hatteras 45. In my haste to get under way this year in order to meet my schedule and to beat the weather, I left without noticing two small deficiencies in the paint. When I brought this to the attention to Jeff Fulcher he scheduled a crew and re-painted the areas at my home port in Virginia. It is because of this work quality and dedication to customer satisfaction that keep me returning to Jarrett Bay in lieu of using an unproven yard in my area. I am certain that this attention to customer satisfaction will be a great help to your succeaa as the new Hatteras dealer.
Thanks again!
P.S. Your Paint Department Technician, Denise Heuser, should be commended for her quality and attention to detail.
