The following is a compilation of the numerous responses and feedback we received on the 2011 Hatteras Owners School hosted by Jarrett Bay Boatworks.
Hi Roger, Well, where do I start? I guess an old saying sums it up best after having had four Hatteras’ – “The more one learns, the more one realizes he does not know”! This is how I felt after the first ten minutes of your school on Monday morning – April 11th. I knew I was going to learn from a professional and from a man with years of experience (37+). Thank you for an EXCELLENT course, being such a patient and great instructor, and making we students feel at ease around such a knowledgeable person.

Last week the Service Department wrapped up the 2011 Hatteras Owner’s School on Wednesday the 13th. In attendance were 24 owners and captains, as well as 9 vendors, and we’ve already received a lot of great feedback on the event.
During the 3 day course at the Jarrett Bay Marine Park in Beaufort, attendees plied deeply into the mechanical, electrical & cosmetic details of their new & classic Hatteras Yachts. Jarrett Bay Project Manager Roger Wetherington heads up the program each year, and shares his decades of intimate Hatteras knowledge & expert advice with participants.

I finally indulged myself with a visit to your excellent Marine Industrial Park. I was curious about the building of the basic hull. I was allowed to walk through the building where several hulls are being laid up, and enjoyed it thoroughly. A first class act for a first class boat!
Thank you,
Frankie Cee, Mossy Head, FL

Jarrett Bay Boatworks is pleased to announce the addition of Bruce Morrison to their expert team of service managers. Morrison comes to Jarrett Bay from Hatteras Yachts after more than 30 years of service, and a series of promotions from an Electrical/Mechanical Installer to Quality Control to Customer Service to his most recent position as their South Florida Service Coordinator. “As an Authorized Hatteras Service Center, we are excited about the extraordinary level of service our Hatteras customers can now expect from Jarrett Bay thanks to Bruce’s in-depth product knowledge and award-winning customer service reputation,” stated Jarrett Bay Boatworks President Randy Ramsey.
Bruce Morrison’s primary Jarrett Bay responsibilities will include overseeing regular maintenance, refits, re-powers and warranty service. Jarrett Bay’s non-Hatteras customers will also be beneficiaries of his considerable experience and knowledge gained through additional positions held in the sail & fire equipment industries, and from his extensive on-the-spot trouble-shooting for customers in Europe, the Middle East, Caribbean and the U.S. East, Gulf & West Coasts.
His most recent service coordinator responsibilities have provided Morrison with a well rounded platform to deal expertly with a wide range of customers and co-workers, all while making the service experience the best to be found on the water.
Another testament to Morrison’s character is his volunteer service as a Fire Fighter and Emergency Technical Technician, as well as a Boy Scout Troop Leader over the course of the past 20 years. He is also a recipient of the Hatteras Yachts Outstanding Performance Award. He may be reached at 252-728-2690

The spring and summer season is off to a record breaking start with many great additions & improvements to our full-service Marine Industrial Park (MIP). Bausch American & IMS’ 30,000 sq. ft. building is complete and already very busy with indoor tower & electronics installs. Powell Brothers Maintenance opened their commercial yard at the MIP, allowing us to segregate the commercial vessel traffic to a separate lot for maintenance – giving us more room to work on & store recreational vessels. The addition of Moores Marine, a major restoration and repairer outfit specializing in Trumpy’s and other “Golden Era” yachts, will bring even more business to our facility.
We completed dredging of the basin recently giving us approximatley 10’ at MLW in our basin. We have recently gained permitting to install an additional dockage space on the ICW, as well as a 150’ floating T-dock to be located parallel to our shoreline on the ICW south side of the basin. These improvements will allow us to have even more dockage for repair and transient vessels. Continue reading “Jarrett Bay Service Facility Project Updates & Certifications” »

Both Jarrett Bay Boatworks (JBBW) and Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales (JBYS) enjoyed record sales numbers at the concurrent shows recently held in Miami. JBBW orders were brisk for their highly anticipated, semi-custom Jarrett Bay 32, which made her debut in Miami. JBBW was equally pleased with the sale of two of their larger, highly customized units in the 60- and 70-foot range. JBYS hit its highest Miami show mark to date with new and brokerage boat sales in excess of $10 million.
“The 2005 Miami showing marked the best show results our two companies have ever attained, and I am certain even more sales will result from the many serious leads generated from this venue,” said Randy Ramsey, JBBW and JBYS President. “These strong sales numbers, combined with incredible growth in 2004 for our JBBW Service Facility and Marine Industrial Park have all of us very excited about the potential 2005 holds for our Jarrett Bay companies.”
The 32-acre JBBW Service Facility posted a sales increase of 20% in 2004, with more than 800 boats hauled by year-end. Adding to their complete roster of marine service related amenities, JBBW has even more to offer with the recent addition of a second 50-ton lift and a fork-lift for boats up to 32′. The 175-acre JBBW Marine Industrial Park is nearly sold out, with only six of the original thirty lots available for sale, and plans for future waterfront development underway.
Ramsey continued, “The vision of all that Jarrett Bay was to be is nearing realization, so we now look forward to solidifying our position as a purveyor of superior craftsmanship through our state-of-the-art JBBW new construction facility; an unrivaled sales support system through our seven Mid-Atlantic JBYS sales offices; and an all-inclusive world-class service provider through our 175-acre JBBW Marine Industrial Park.”
