The month of December brings cool weather to Eastern NC along with the excitement that surrounds the Holiday Season. For us here at Jarrett Bay, it is also a time to reflect on the year that has passed and think about goals for the year to come. A time to spend time with our family, friends, members of our Jarrett Bay family and give thanks for all we have been blessed with not only in the past year but in our lives.
As we embark on our 27th year at Jarrett Bay, we have a lot to be thankful for.
Randy Ramsey

Jarrett Bay Boats Place in Both Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament & Keli Wagner Lady Anglers Event
Inspiration Finishes Second in 2012 Big Rock; Chainlink Second in KWLA
With challenging wind & sea conditions for much of the 2012 Big Rock tournament, several Jarrett Bay-built boats scratched and clawed their way to the forefront. The Flybuoy’s winning 499 lb. fish was caught on the first day of the tournament, and with building seas throughout the rest of the week, the 120 boat fleet largely struggled to outdo them.
On Day 2 however, Jarrett Bay hull 22, Inspiration, captained and owned by Big Rock director Casey Wagner, boated a 437 lb blue which turned out good for 2nd place and more than 212,000 dollars.
Joy Gaskill’s Memory to be Celebrated in Habitat Groundbreaking Ceremony
Jarrett Bay Boatworks and Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity invite the boating community’s support for the celebration of a former Jarrett Bay employee with the construction of an H4H home. The home – sponsored by the Jarrett Bay Boatworks staff, customers, family and friends – is being built for the Simons family in the memory of a long-time Jarrett Bay employee, Joy Gaskill, whose life was taken tragically in April of 2008 by a driver who was under the influence.

Prior to her untimely passing, Joy had been working with Crystal Coast Habitat to plan a special build to help a local family with her co-workers and friends at Jarrett Bay Boatworks. Over the past few years since Joy’s passing, donations have continued to come in to build a home in her memory. The Simons family was selected over the 2011 Christmas season, and they have been working through their “sweat equity” hours and homeowners education to prepare for the start of their home. The search was on for a lot to build the home. Finally, through the on-going fund-raising efforts and generosity of Jarrett Bay’s employees and owner Randy Ramsey, a donation was made to purchase a lot in Carteret County.

Nordhavn 68′ Service: Extraordinary Handling of the Situation
Randy
We wanted to pass on our appreciation for yet another positive Jarrett Bay service experience. This was our 3rd haul out at Jarrett Bay and we can truly say we have always had a positive experience. We have utilized the services of many boat yards over the years. Jarrett Bay ranks among the best of the best. When your vessel is hauled there is always a sense of concern as to its well being and security. Watching a 100 plus ton vessel being hauled is always nerve racking but the Jarrett Bay lift crew is so experienced that they make it look easy. Todd and Kendra promptly scheduled and handled all of the details as they have previously and made everything seamless and easy.

Jarrett Bay VIP #12: “Sensation”
In this final leg of a 12 part series, Randy Ramsey reflects on the most influential people to contribute to Jarrett Bay’s success over the last 25 years:
For the past 11 months it has been a pleasure to share some of the stories about our first 25 years and the many people who have helped to mold the company and contributed to our success. For the 12th and final installment of the series I think it would be appropriate to write about what started all the excitement 25 years ago: hull number 1 “Sensation”.
Jarrett Bay VIPs #11: “The Employees Who Make Us Who We Are”
In this 12 part series, Randy Ramsey reflects each month on the most influential people to contribute to Jarrett Bay’s success over the last 25 years.
For the past few months, I have written about many of the individuals who influenced the early years of our company and who shared the passion and desire to ensure our company would grow and prosper. Each person has left their mark and their contributions will continue to influence us for many years to come. One group of people I am proud to include in this series, is the roster of more than 200 employees who have in the past and/or to this day build and repair the boats that are the foundation of all that we do at Jarrett Bay.
This month is dedicated to the craftsmen and women who have, and continue to, work here day in and day out. In many industries it seems the employees come to work each day just for a paycheck. As I write this and hear the sounds of power tools in the background, I am proud to say that isn’t the case at Jarrett Bay.

Jarrett Bay VIPs #10: “Those who shared the dream”
In this 12 part series, Randy Ramsey reflects each month on the most influential people to contribute to Jarrett Bay’s success over the last 25 years.
Throughout my life and since we started Jarrett Bay, I have been blessed to have been surrounded by people that were able to share our passion. Often times when I would look around, it was hard to imagine how we would make it to the next step. But each time, there was a person there to help guide us and willing to share our dream. Over the last nine months you have read about some of those people who were instrumental in our success and who selflessly gave of themselves. As I started to write about this month’s VIP, it occurred to me that I have more people than months left to recognize them in with this 12 part series. So this month is dedicated to an amazing group of friends who shared our dream and played a major role in our success.
