Awhile back we showed you a before and after of our refit of the classic Rybovich yacht Maradel. Several weeks ago her owner took possession and we were able to get some final photographs of all the completed work.
You can read all the details on the first post, but to recap the boat received new teak decks & covering boards, cabinets, and an entirely new interior, cockpit and bridge. The cockpit was fitted with a fighting chair & rocket launcher from Release Marine and IMS American Marine Electronics installed electronics while Bausch American Towers rigged the beautiful new tower & integrated hard top.

The 43 foot Rybovich, Liberator, first came to Jarrett Bay Boatworks by way of Long Island, New York for an entire top-to-bottom refit and rebirth as the Maradel. This refit started with all new wiring and mechanicals including Cummins QSC540 8.3 liter diesel engines, 11.5 kw Onan Generator set and new fuel and water tanks.
Notable customizations included adding an anchor & rope locker, new fore-deck hatches, cutting in a bridge access hatch & creating an in-deck fish box in the cockpit. In regards to the hull, we added corner hawse pipes, took out all through-hulls, incorporated an engine room central collector drain box, Livos air vents & installed all new shafts & wheels.
The carpentry team set new teak decks, covering boards & built teak cockpit cabinets. The interior was completely rebuilt & Crystal Coast Interiors provided a soft goods package. A full bar and stools were added as well as a new sofa, veneer, whisper wall, counter tops, carpet & wallpaper. All interior varnish was stripped and the oak and ash redone with an elegant satin finish. The exterior teak varnish was stripped to the lumber and expertly refinished. The spring and summer season is off to a record breaking start with many great additions & improvements to our full-service Marine Industrial Park (MIP). Bausch American & IMS’ 30,000 sq. ft. building is complete and already very busy with indoor tower & electronics installs. Powell Brothers Maintenance opened their commercial yard at the MIP, allowing us to segregate the commercial vessel traffic to a separate lot for maintenance – giving us more room to work on & store recreational vessels. The addition of Moores Marine, a major restoration and repairer outfit specializing in Trumpy’s and other “Golden Era” yachts, will bring even more business to our facility.
We completed dredging of the basin recently giving us approximatley 10’ at MLW in our basin. We have recently gained permitting to install an additional dockage space on the ICW, as well as a 150’ floating T-dock to be located parallel to our shoreline on the ICW south side of the basin. Another fall and winter season is upon us as a successful spring and summer season winds down. The 106′ West Ship was hauled for annual maintenance prior to heading South for winter. The 68′ Hatteras, and the 68′ Jarrett Bay arrived from Bermuda after having fantastic fishing there to complete an availability & get ready for the winter season. The new 60′ Hatteras is here having the hull painted and new granite counter tops, outriggers&fighting chair installed.
The 1965 43′ Rybovich arrived by truck from a boat yard on Long Island, New York where it sat for the past two years. This classic will undergo a major facelift as we complete a full fairing and painting of the vessel, renewal of all brightwork, new teak covering boards and cockpit decking, new cockpit cabinets, and completely revamp mechanical and electrical systems throughout.
