It’s always a pleasure hosting one of the three boats in the “Gudelsky Fleet,” and Reel Joy’s stint with us was no different.

John Gudelsky is a long time, and loyal friend of the Jarrett Bay Service facility. We’ve been lucky enough to have worked on all three of his vessels. Prior to the Reel Joy’s launch from a major refit project this week, the Absolut Joy, another custom sport fisher, and the True Joy, their mother-ship motor yacht have also been released from our care within the last year, both undergoing extensive refits and upgrades.

Our most recent project, the Reel Joy, a 63’ custom Revenge, came to us in the winter of 2012 in search of some cosmetic repairs and custom upgrades. While under the watch of Jarrett Bay Boatworks Vice President, Tate Lawrence, the custom sport fisher was equipped with a new level with drink and bait coolers, new teak throughout the cockpit and on the covering boards, a black mask added on the cabin, custom hand/grab rails recessed on the cabin sides – accented with a blue painted backing which gives the illusion of cabin molding, a new top side paint job, and of course a new coat of hull paint in the signature “Gudelsky Blue.”

Inside, we took the opportunity to spruce up some cosmetic matters in need of attention, while also being outfitted with new soft goods and décor, courtesy of our marine park neighbors, Crystal Coast Interiors. CCI also provided the exterior mezzanine cushions.

Capt. Andy Helms and crew pushed off early this a.m. making their way north to Sunset Marina in Ocean City, MD, where she’ll stay for the rest of the summer months before making her way back to Singer Island for the winter.

From our entire refit team, we wish the Reel Joy crew safe travels and tight lines!
