Chris Lee

Service Manager

Born near Savannah Georgia, Chris’s passion for fishing and the ocean started at an early age. When school was out, he spent his summers fishing with his grandfather in Georgia and with friends in the Outer Banks. After high school, Chris started working at a family friend's boat dealership. It was during this time that his true passion showed, and he pushed for quality and excellence.

After College, Chris moved to Virginia where he worked his way up from service writer to assistant service manager at local boat dealerships. After years of weekend fishing trips and missed opportunities, Chris relocated to Wanchese, NC to pursue his passion and became a yard manager in Wanchese. The harsh windy winters opened an opportunity for Chris to move to South Florida working at a custom canvas shop. That allowed him to travel to many custom boat builders and full-service yards to widen his perspective of the industry. Long hot summers and consistent travel moved him back to North Carolina, where he worked at Fountain Powerboats performing service and warranty work.

Joining the Jarrett Bay team, Chris feels at home and is blessed to surround himself with the best. Chris’s time away from the yard is spent with his girlfriend and family enjoying the outdoors, usually fishing, boat riding, beach and camping.

Scott Young - Project Manager

Scott Young

Project Manager

Scott Young was raised along North Carolina's Crystal Coast in the historic seaport of Beaufort. He spent his days surfing, wakeboarding and fishing any chance he could get. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he came to work for Jarrett Bay in the early 2000s, and has been an integral part of the construction of every new build since Hull #29 -- that's nearly 40 custom hulls with the 67th hull launched in 2022. Along the way, Scott also lent a hand, and his incredible boatbuilding skillset, to assist with numerous Jarrett Bay service projects within the 175-acre adjacent Marine Industrial Park. Working his way up the ladder and definitely earning his stripes, Scott was promoted in 2022 to Project Manager with the New Construction operation. With an appreciation for the challenge of change and an understanding of the boatbuilding heritage that makes every game-changing new build distinctly a Jarrett Bay, our customers rest easy with Scott leading the charge.

Scott and his wife Donna enjoy being the biggest fans at many ball fields watching their two daughters stay very active playing softball -- so much so that Scott has also taken on a leadership role on the field as their coach. Scott can be found somewhere on the water between working on boats and attending softball tournaments.

Bryan Gray

Bryan Gray

Engineer

Bryan Gray brings 25 years of professional experience in the marine industry specific to boat building and manufacturing to the Jarrett Bay family. Eight of those years he served as program chair of the North Carolina Marine Training & Education Center within the local public sector. Prior to that, his career working in industry consisted of managing many successful production teams within various aspects of both custom boat building and composite boat manufacturing. His love and passion for the trade of true custom wooden boat building landed him at Jarrett Bay where he joined the construction management and design team in June of 2019.

Bryan was born in High Point NC, however most of his childhood summer and fall months were spent on the waters around Beaufort Inlet fishing with his father since the age of three. Growing up in a family of fisherman with a father who was keen to the inshore waters of Bogue Sound and an older brother who had a desire for catching freshwater bass, Bryan quickly discovered that for him it was all about the boats and the salt waters that held them. Bryan framed his career around his passion for the art of boat building and has yet to work a day in his life.

He holds an AAS degree in Occupational Technologies along with numerous industry certifications including multiple A.B.Y.C certifications, advanced composites, 3D modeling, CNC technologies and is currently pursuing a degree in naval architecture.
